Plastic Steel is a twin pack steel filled stiff epoxy paste that hardens by chemical reaction after mixing of the two components to produce metallic bonds of great strength. It is supplied in two grades for other domestic or workshop use.

  • Techiad Plastic Steel bonds well to aluminum, cast iron, steel, and other metals, as well as to many other materials such as wood, glass and stone.
  • Trinepon Plastic Steel is slump free when mixed, and cures to give a compound of great strength and hardness.
  • Cured Plastic Steel can be turned, drilled, tapped and generally worked like metal.
  • Trinepon plastic Steel does not conduct electricity, and is in fact a good insulator.
  • Trinepon Plastic Steel is resistant to petrol and mineral oil, gas solvents, household chemicals and mild acids.

It is ideal for repair of metal componets and castings, automotive parts and spares or wherever a metallic bond is required. It can be used to make replacement of metallic components or for the production of of prototype articles and parts subsequent machining and shaping.

  • Apply to clean, dry surfaces, which should be free from grease, oil, rust, dust and loose particles.
  • Do not allow Plastic Steel to come into contact with a naked, direct flame.
  • Curing time depends upon temperature, higher temperatures will accelerate hardening and lower temperatures will retard it.
  • Also note that larger quantities set faster than smaller quantities.
  • Before machining, allow Plastic Steel to harden for 24 hours, after which it can be machined like ordinary metal.
  • When machining use low speeds and plenty of cooling fluid. Clean tools and equipment with Techiad Thinners immediately after use.
  • Avoid all unnecessary contact with the skin. Clean hands with soap and hot water.
